~ A somewhat autobiographical look at how plants have impacted my life ~

Our Garden

Our property spans nearly an acre, with most of it on a steep incline dropping 100 feet  from Mission Hills down to Mission Valley.  The garden is a  north-facing, terraced hillside full of plants, artworks, and whimsy. It is known for its collection of climate-appropriate plants, 100s of steps, over 10 thousand recycled bottles, and mosaic pathways made with local rocks and recycled materials.

The terraces slope forms a series of rooms leading to the bottom of the hill with a diverse array of drought-tolerant plants, including California natives, Australian and South African bulbs,  shrubs and trees, succulents, cycads, palm trees, and bromeliads.

I hope you find my posts inspirational and happy gardening!
